RIFE TO ROUND OUT OTTAWA, ON LINE-UP

Ottawa, ON (May 7, 2024) – Today, the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival (GOCF) announces
enterprising stand-up comic and social media sensation Matt Rife as the third and final headliner
for the Ottawa, ON weekend. Rife is set to take the stage on Sunday, August 11 at LeBreton Flats
to close out the festival, in what is sure to be an unforgettable evening of best-in-class material
and the fan-favourite comedian’s signature quick witted crowdwork.
Rife adds his name to an incredible line-up at LeBreton Flats that includes Friday headliner Tom
Segura, performing his set from his Come Together Tour, joined by Bobby Lee, and Jessica
Kirson, and Saturday headliner Nate Bargatze, with Gerry Dee and Derrick Stroup kicking
off the day.

Since 2021, the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival, produced by Trixstar LIVE, has donated over
$350,000 to local charities in each of their markets, continuing to strive towards creating a
diverse, inclusive, and safe experience that celebrates and features all forms of performance
comedy, from local emerging acts to superstars. With a commitment to bolstering the
communities that have warmly embraced their festival, last week Trixstar LIVE launched the
Great Outdoors Community Fund, aiming to further give back by raising urgently-needed
donations, creating job opportunities, and shining a spotlight on local causes and charities, with a
2024 commitment of $250,000. The festival pledges to continually evolve their robust green
event practices year over year, making certain that they leave nothing but laughter in their wake,
while also improving accessibility efforts to ensure everyone has access to the same festival
experience.

ABOUT MATT RIFE
Matt Rife has exploded to become one of the biggest comedians in the world through his top
performing Netflix special and his remarkable engagement on social media where he has
amassed over 18 million followers, and more than 2 billion views globally. As one of the most

his second stand-up special, “Matthew Steven Rife” on YouTube. The special was taped in
Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently
passed. Only a couple months later, Rife decided to release a crowd work special, Walking Red
Flag on YouTube, which has amassed over 10 million views.
On November 15th
, 2023, the comedian released his highly anticipated third stand-up special,
Matt Rife: Natural Selection on Netflix, which garnered outstanding numbers including over
10.3 million views in its first two weeks and earning a Top 10 ranking in 42 countries including
#1 in the US, Canada, and South Africa. In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on
MTV’s Wild ‘N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to
other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other
credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off The Boat, BET’s North Of The 10, and NBC’s
comedy competition show Bring The Funny.
