5 Facts About Ed Sheeran

5 Facts About Ed Sheeran

By Mary Fournier

It’s the third week of our $1,000 Song! Have you been listening to hear ‘I Don’t Care’ by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber? You better be! This week we’re giving you some little known facts about Ed. I mean, why not know some info about the guy who will make you a little bit richer?

1-He Has A Nandos Black Card

If you have to ask about the Nandos Black Card, chances are you won’t get one. This loyalty card is so exclusive most people don’t even think it exists. Thanks to Ed, however, we know it’s real. The card allows him to get all-you-can-eat peri-peri chicken. How did he get one, you ask? By doing a freestyle rap of his love for the Portuguese style chicken restaurant (warning his rap is NSFW). Even more, Nandos clearly loves Ed back, as they have a sauce named after him. Also if you’re curious, Ed likes his chicken medium spiced.

2-He Names All Of His Guitars

You know you love something when you give it a name and Ed definitely loves his guitars. The names include Lloyd, Felix, Keith and Nigel, who also happen to be members of his crew. Ed once kicked and cracked one of his guitars he named James and replaced it with James The Second, obviously.

3-He Can Play Numerous Instruments

Besides being known to play the acoustic guitar, Ed learned to play the bass guitar, drums, piano and cello while growing up. Meanwhile, we were trying to get passed playing easy mode on Guitar Hero.

4-He’s Covered In Tattoos

This fact might be a little obvious but did you know Ed has over 60 tattoos?! Some of his tattoos include a family tree, the Gingerbread Man from Shrek, homage to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottle. Some extra fun facts are he shares a matching Pingu tattoo with Harry Styles and he even has a maple leaf tattoo for his Canadian fans, which he got after his first show in Canada.

5-He’s Written Songs For Other Artists

Yes, we know him as the songwriter for all the fantastic songs he sings, but did you know he has also written songs for other chart-toppers? He’s written ‘Dark Times’ for The Weeknd, ‘Everything Has Changed’ by Taylor Swift (which Ed also features on) and our fellow ‘I Don’t Care’ singer, Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’.

Enough celeb facts for the day? Don’t forget to listen 7 days a week to hear ‘I Don’t Care’ by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber in its entirety for your chance to win $1,000!
