3. It Was Ed’s Wife Who Suggested The Collab

Ed Sheeran, Cherry Seaborn

Ed’s wife, Cherry Seaborn, was the one who suggested Ed collaborate with Justin on ‘I Don’t Care’. In an interview, Ed told American radio personality, Charlamagne Tha God that because both he and Justin recently got married, it would make sense for them to work together on a song about being with the woman you love at an event and focusing more on the person you love than the event itself.

Who would’ve guessed that the iconic 2001 version of ‘Lady Marmalade’ by Christina Aguilera, Mya, P!nk, and Lil’ Kim for the ‘Moulin Rouge’ soundtrack is the reason ‘I Don’t Care’ exists. In the same interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Ed said, “I had an idea. Get Bruno (Mars), Bieber and me on a record, how fun would that be?” While he didn’t record a song featuring both Bruno and Justin together, he does have a song on his new album with Bruno. But can you imagine how ‘I Don’t Care’ would sound if Bruno was on it? I think we need an updated version ASAP.
