Between everyone posting about the empowering women in their lives, and our first look at the new $10 bill, things got wonderfully hectic online on International Women’s Day.
Among all the incredible posts and stories, Historica Canada released a new Heritage Minute to mark the occasion; giving a look into the life and mind of Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Montgomery was best known for writing the Anne of Green Gables series, which has sold more than 50 MILLION copies, and been translated into at least 36 languages since its 1908 publication.
As the Heritage Minute points out, she struggled with depression and sexism while trying to become one of the most notable Canadian authors.
BRB, going to read the entire series for the millionth time.
