Steve Wilkos, the bald-headed security guard who spent 13 years on The Jerry Springer Show, has been charged with driving under the influence.
The no-nonsense Wilkos crashed his car in Darien, Conn., on Jan. 21, and suffered minor injuries. A patrolling officer discovered the car wreck and had Wilkos transferred to Stamford Hospital.

As seen in The Darien Times’ tweet of the accident, it appears Wilkos struck several poles and a tree before the car rolled over.
After investigating, the police on-scene determined that Wilkos had a blood-alcohol level of .29. In Connecticut, the legal limit is .08. Law enforcement applied for a warrant and it was granted.
Wilkos turned himself in to Darien Police Headquarters on Wednesday night, police said.
There, he was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and failure to drive right. He was released after posting US$1,500 bond.
He is set to appear in Stamford court on March 5.
“Over the course of my life, I have been struggling with bouts of depression and on the day of my accident, I had a complete lapse in judgment which resulted in me drinking and getting behind the wheel of my car,” said Wilkos to TMZ.
“This experience reinforces my commitment to get the professional help that I need and I have recently completed an intensive medically supervised program,” he confessed.
Wilkos is currently the host of The Steve Wilkos Show, a daytime tabloid talk show that’s been on the air since 2007. After 11 seasons, there are more than 1,200 episodes.Follow @CJancelewicz
