Eminem surprised the world on Wednesday with a new song titled Campaign Speech, in which he raps about the upcoming 2016 election, race issues and pop culture, among many other hot-button themes.
“Dressing George Zimmerman in a florescent orange dress and four-inch heels/To address the court with a bull’s-eye on his back/His whole chest and torso left on the doorstop of Trayvon’s dad as a present for him,” he raps.
Eminem also takes shots at presidential candidate Donald Trump around the four-minute mark: “You say Trump don’t kiss a** like a puppet cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the funded/And that’s what you wanted, a f***ing loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button who doesn’t have to answer to no one? Great idea,” he raps.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has made his political leanings known in a public forum. In 2008, he spoke with the BBC and admitted he was an Obama supporter. “I know we are going into a recession. Pardon the cliché but we need something to change. I think Barack would be a breath of fresh air, to get in there and actually get what’s left of the Bush administration out the door.”
Back in 2015, he also called Trump out in a six-minute freestyle on radio show Sway in the Morning.
He said: “”I’m f***ing worse than Donald Trump/On Lexapro in Mexico across from a Texaco in a McDonald’s drunk.”
Eminem shared the track on Twitter, where he also revealed that he’s working on a new album.
People on social media were shocked and excited about the surprise Eminem song.
Despite criticism in the past, Eminem’s new track is still full of homophobic slurs and rape comments. Others on social media noticed this and took to Twitter to discuss how offensive the rapper still is.
Eminem hasn’t released an album since 2013’s Marshall Mathers LP 2, but he did previously work on the Shady Records album Shady XV in 2014.
