Ontario man arrested in B.C., charged with 2nd-degree murder in west-end Toronto shooting

An “armed and dangerous” suspect wanted on a second-degree murder warrant has been arrested in Surrey, B.C. and charged in connection with the shooting of a 31-year-old man found dead in a trucking company parking lot in west-end Toronto last week.

Emergency crews responded to BTI Cartage, on Humber College Boulevard near Finch Avenue West in Etobicoke, around 2:40 a.m. Saturday after Maninder Singh Sandhu was found dead in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.

Sandhu stored his tractor trailer in the parking lot and police said he was shot around 4:30 p.m. Friday. His body was discovered by family members at the scene around 10 hours later.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Pardeep Chouhan, 34, of Brampton, Wednesday on one charge of second-degree murder.

Police said he was believed to be armed and dangerous and had access to firearms.
