The 4th Annual West End Food Truck Rally

The 4th Annual West End Food Truck Rally is less than two weeks away!  On Saturday, August 11, thirteen local food trucks will join forces in the parking lot of Christ Church Bells Corners (3861 Old Richmond Road) to work their culinary magic in support of the FAMSAC Food Cupboard, west Nepean’s emergency food assistance program.  Admission to the rally is free, thanks to sponsor Myers Automotive Group, but everyone is encouraged to bring a food or cash donation to support FAMSAC’s vital work in the community.

The FAMSAC Food Cupboard supports close to 100 families each month, including over 120 children.  This year’s rally is focussing on healthy school lunches for those children as they prepare to head back to school in September.  “With the new school year just around the corner,” explains FAMSAC President Jeremy LeBlanc, “there is a pressing need for healthy snacks and drinks to fuel children’s minds and bodies.  Items such as applesauce snacks, granola bars, and 100% juice boxes are greatly appreciated by families in need, as are oatmeal and breakfast cereals.”

Ad Mare, Angry Dragonz, Big D’s Doghouse & Poutine Emporium, Caffeine Fix, The Merry Dairy, Mr. Churritos, Pizza All’Antica, Raon Kitchen, ROOST Food Truck, Smokin’ R&Rs BBQ, Stella Luna, Sula Wok, and Whitetails Wild Game Grill will all be on hand from 11 am until 7 pm and have generously agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds from the day to FAMSAC.  In addition, 100% of proceeds from drink sales will go to FAMSAC, thanks to returning drink sponsor Giant Tiger.  A bouncy castle and face painting (sponsored by Playground Planners), Little Ray’s Reptiles show (sponsored once again by Frontline Financial Credit Union), balloon creatures (sponsored by Arbique & Ahde), magic show, and great music make this a perfect event for people of all ages.

LeBlanc adds, “Whether you are craving savoury or sweet delights, please join us on August 11 for fabulous food and fun in support of a great community cause. With everyone’s support, we can ensure that FAMSAC continues to provide local families with a variety of healthy food choices in the months ahead.”

Let’s give every child in west Nepean the best start possible this fall.
